Marijan Lipsinic

Marijan (pronounced “Mar-ian”) Lipsinic was born on December 5, 1969 in Zajacko Selo, near Ozalj, Croatia, a beautiful country in Southeastern Europe where the sport of bodybuilding is highly regarded. Marijan’s passion for bodybuilding began early at the age of 13. He has always admired muscular physiques, even as a kid when he was playing
soccer in his native Croatia. Marijan has a sister Branka and brother Drazen.

It was at the age of 16 that Marijan first stepped into the gym where he became quite excited with his workout experience and became a regular attending three times per week. This was a bit difficult and complicated to arrange, as Marijan had to travel 15 miles by train to workout at the closest gym in the nearby city of Karlovac. There were no local gyms where Marijan grew up.

The dedication in the gym and to the sport of bodybuilding was evident in Marijan as a year after entering that gym in Karlovac he was on stage, in 1987 competing in his first bodybuilding show, in the junior division for athletes under age of 21.

Change along with growth has been a constant in Marijan’s life. He has lived in Slovenia, England, Germany, and the Caribbean prior to moving in late nineties to New York State and then in December 2005 to South Florida.

In the early years Marijan admired bodybuilders such as Arnold Schwarzenegger on stage and enjoyed watching his movies. Being a fan and competitor in the sport has resulted in Marijan making the acquaintance and becoming friends with many other well-known figures in the sport. Over the years, Marijan’s appreciation has grown for bodybuilders, fitness, and figure competitors as he himself strove to be a top athlete and dealt with the challenges and sacrifices that are required. Along the way Marijan has built an impressive number of competition and enjoys being ranked as a nationally qualified National Physique
Committee athlete.
